Logging Les Mills Pump workouts?

Hi guys! I just received Les Mills Pump in the mail, and I've started to do it. But how do you log it as cardiovascular exercise? Do you log it as strength training or circuit traning? There's too much of a caloric difference between the two, so any input here would be great!

*googles* I haven't heard of it before...but looks really interesting! OH gosh. I never know what's right with counting calories. That's why I got a HRM so I know for sure. Either way, be sure to post an update how you like the workouts!!!0

I would wear a heart rate monitor and log it according to that.0

Log them under Cardio exercise....and use an HRM to detrmine your calories burned....

I actually work at a Goodlife where all the Les Mills classes take place and I just added it into the database, because nothing really is close. I added it as cardiovascular and the average calorie burn is approx 500 cal/hr IF you're pushing yourself with heavy weights, otherwise alter it for how hard you're working...another way to tell how many calories you personally are burning is to use a heart rate monitor that also tracks your calorie burn...I know a few ladies at the gym who have them and love it0

The class is structured so that you are getting cardio at the same time you're strength training. I'd go with the 500 posted earlier as a fair # for a hard workout and adjust it for your effort level that day like she suggested. I do a lot of that with my exercises, just trying to have a place setting on here and some idea of what I might have burned, but usually undercut my #'s a little because I don't have a hrm. Logging those here is more for the accountability than the #.0

I do LMP, but I wear a heart rate monitor. They are very big burns at all, since its main strength training. I am in the 4th week and I have burned anywhere from 120-200 calories depending on the workout. The first few weorkouts are very easy and are only 20-30 minutes long. As you get farther into the months, the workouts will get longer.
I would recommend getting a HRM for accuracy. If you don't have one, I would log it under the cardiovascular section, Strength training option.
Good luck!0 -
I ordered mine and got it Friday. Started it today. Man, I am really upset that I didnt order it sooner. I have a HRM and logged it into cardio.0
