water intake

OK, so...is there a guideline to know when I REALLY need to drink water?
If I drink the "recommended" - I never do anything but pee. I can't function at work getting up every 30-45 minutes to take a p**s!
The recommended daily water doesn't account for water in food. Is there a way to tell I am getting enough or need more?

Sure. If you're thirsty, drink. It's not rocket science
Also, if your pee is dark or really yellow (as opposed to clear or light yellow) then you should maybe up your intake. Constipation and headaches can be caused by dehydration. But mostly our bodies tell us when we are thirsty.0
