I am aware of the benefits of weight training when it comes to losing body fat but I can't afford to join a gym and I don't have room in my flat start a home gym. So what are the alternatives that will give me similar results? Kettlebells? Fitness bands? Push ups?

Kettlebells are awesome. I recommend Lauren Brooks DVDs or her book (which I am using). They have really transformed my body and it is fun!0

TRX type things could be good as well. kettles bells are good as well but they are expensive if you want a range of weights0

ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!
I love kettle bells and resistence bands, and you can get great results with them. I have a 4kg and an 8kg bell (I found on sale in local shop) and this is a nice range for me.
Not heard about TRX - what is it?

Thank you! I think I might take the plunge and buy a kettlebell (and DVD) and I'll check out the Nerd Fitness exercises.0
