I have a question for anybody out there. When you are weighing meat, do you take the before or after cooked weight? I just cooked a chicken breast for dinner and it was 6.2 oz raw and after cooked it was 3.9 oz. . I want to make sure I'm counting the calories correctly. Thanks.

I googled it, but I didn't get an actual answer. All I got was pages of forum posts answering the same question. Everyone answered to weigh it before cooking.0

I take the "after" weight0

i find an entry in the database for raw meat and use that, i think it's more accurate but that's just me!0

The data base does have weight for some meats - both cooked or raw. Generally I take the cooked/grilled weight.0

I usually weigh raw, and just make sure to log it as the raw weight.0

I usually do it before. Make sure you get as much water out of it as you can.
Also you can add raw or cooked in your diary.0
