Pulled Muscle.. Workout options?

So I was moving some lumber, and paneling this weekend while emptying out a barn. I must have moved wrong, or lifted something wrong, cuz my left bicep hurts now when I use that arm. I took it easy Sunday, and felt fine this morning.
When I tried to use the pull-up bar, it felt the same as Saturday. So, I know I need to give it several more days to rest...

So without being able to lift, or use the pull-up bar, what are good options for this week?
Or, should I just make it a cardio only week?

  • Take it slowly if you feel any pain. I strained my right bicep doing chin ups in February. I thought it was minor because it felt better in a couple of hours. Two days later, the pain came back when I got back on the bar. I ended up waiting 6 weeks before it was completely pain free on the bar. In the meantime, I was able to do push ups, overhead press and even horizontal rows without any bicep pain.

Cool. Thanks. I didnt even try to do any other exercises today. Wednesday is the next day for any type of lifting... I will go easy and see what I can do.
Hopefully the press is pain free.

Tony you probably already know this but, Must let it rest, ice packs, Aleve and plenty of water, are the best for me..It works.

I think cardio only until the pain disappears. A tear can only get worse. Do NOT mess around with an actual injury, you will always regret it.

Great question. Was also wondering what to do - strained a shoulder muscle.

I guess squats and cardio? Not sure how a deadlift affects the upper arm...
