Strength training question

Hello :)

So, I've been reading all about how strength training and "lifting heavy" is the best way to change my body composition and shed fat. However, between now and September, I don't have gym accesss. Can I get the same effects from using a resistence band and my own body weight? Or is it really necessary to use dumbbells and bars?

I really want to try this because I'm frustrated as all hell with my current weight, but I don't want to waste my time if it's not going to give me a sumilar result.

Any opinions/thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated :D

I have seen folks suggest youareyourowngym.com, bodyrock.tv and a few youtube channels.

You can have great success with body weight and bands, although at some point you would likely need to expand to barbell weights to continue to see progress.

Search bodyweight exercise programs or "jailhouse" workouts...I'm sure you can find something challenging to do at least through September.

    Good luck!

You can start light, with a cheap barbell and do squats (no more than you can lift over your head) and floor press instead of bench press.

You can get your form down super good, then hit the gym in september.
