I hung out with a guy and we walked like 3 miles on the beach and he mentioned that he goes to the gym and I was trying to come up with something fun and free to do because we're both broke college kids would it be weird if I asked him to go to the gym with me? I'm not sure if that would be too weird since it would be our second time hanging out but the first time we did walk like 4 miles.

I don't think it would be weird. What's the worst he can say?0

Was walking the first date? If so, walk with him again a couple more times, then mention the gym. Will loosen him up a bit.
Then again, what do I know?0 -
I know I am not a guy... but my best friend is a guy and we go to the gym together all the time... Its kind of our place we can go and check each other out without really being obvious about it!!0

I think it is a good idea. Plus this will help you with your goal and it would be good to see a different side of the person you think you are interested in.0

in all honesty if you asked me to go to the gym I would be flattered and feel you cared for me as a little more than a friend. To me the gym is kinda an intimate place cause you can find out alot about someone if you care to see and hear things...just my opinion!0

just tell him you need some pointers and you all should go to the gym together. I think he'll be thrilled0

I would say ask him. Its a public place and if you know that he works out already then he will probably say yes and you two can enjoy something you both like together.0
-
Not weird at all. If he likes you, he will do it.0
-
Why not? Automatically you both will have something to talk about. And it's easy to be slightly competitive and flirty in that environment. Then you could always relax and get a coffee or something afterwards.0

As a guy I thinks its the worst idea ever...u should sleep with him first to see if he would make a good gym partner
Or I could be completely wrong....um probably not.0 -

i'd probably ask to go somewhere else. When people go to the gym they usually have their routines.0

I wouldn't be to keen on that idea and this is why: I go to the gym to get things done, and when you are on a date you are trying to keep the other person entertained. You might suggest going on a run together, or perhaps doing some kind of ropes course (Most universities have them, although you might have to ask around to find out where they are hiding it). Walking is also nice because it gives the two of you a chance to talk with the occasional distraction of things giong on around you. It's like going to a movie, but with more of a chance for interaction.0

I'll tell you the same thing I tell my guy friends. Man up, just do it.0

I'd be happy that you asked, but I wouldn't want the distraction. You'd be pretty bored at the gym while I lifted with my headphones in.0

When I was in school, I used to like going to the gym with a certain guy, sometimes we'd run on the treadmills together, other times, we'd swim (or just play in the water), or play tennis. Our school had a really nice gym. It was great for getting to know him... just find something at the gym that you two can do together0
