I like Veggies. I like to make large salads. My husband and I are wondering if there a proper portion size when it comes to veggies/salads?

There *are* serving sizes for veggies, but unlike other foods it really isn't detrimental if you eat more of them as long as you're eating a varied diet in general. Low calories, low fat, low sugars, high fiber, high nutrients.0

The proper portion size is called "as many as you want". They do have a caloric detriment despite what some may think normally due to the naturally occuring sugars so I try to estimate the amount I eat.0

In the US, the serving size is 1/2 cup and 1 cup for leafy things (lettuce, spinach). I eat a ton of veggies but always measure/weigh them out so I can track the calories.0
