i work out 3-4 days a week doing the jillian micheals 30 day shred level 2
i eat 1680 calories a day (1lb loss so i can reduce my calories as i lose weight)
for 2 weeks i didnt workout
about 5 days (not in a row) out of the month i went over on my calories
2 of those days it was drastic
IS THIS NORMAL?i expected to see a LITTLE LOSS even tho i was bad :(

i bought walk away the pounds and im going to try to do that everyweek day and jillian just the weekends, because jillian is so hard it zaps all my energy and i look all red and sweaty for the rest of the night :(

i did walk away the pounds thurs and fri and today i did the 30 day shred ( ^ i vowed this last night when i got on the scale) so i'm 'back on track' even though i was never fully off!

i'm tempted to cut calories like crazy and workout everyday, even though i knowww i wont be able to keep it up, just to see some movement on the scale!

so give me some motivational words!

never ever ever give up. That's all I got for ya.

you can do this!! Don't give up. Concentrate on how much BETTER you feel when you're eating healthier and working out. You actually physically FEEL better, right? Think about that not the number on the scale. You can do this. :flowerforyou:

make sure you are drinking enough water even on days you are bad. It really does make a difference. This will also help if you have been bad and had foods really high in sodium. Be sure you aren't just retaining water. I know on most occasions I can gain up to three pounds in one day just from salt. Water, water, water...really makes a difference! Keep up the good work, its a long road but totally worth it!

I have nothing particularly motivating to share, just to say you aren't alone. I have had entire months where I don't lose a thing and my eating/exercise won't be any different that month than it was the previous when I may have lost ten or more pounds.

It is frustrating, but weight loss is not a linear process. If you are doing the right things, over time it will come off.

Me too!! I decided today that I'm going to quit doing the 30 day shred. It's a heck of a workout but since i started I have lost -0- and it is just depressing. I also walk 30-60 minutes every day. When I started here I went to eating 1200 calories a day for 13 days (without cheating) and didn't drop a pound. I think I shocked my system which then went into starvation mode and kept the weight on. I decided to take a couple days off when I went on vacation and at least I didn't gain. I'm "starting over" AGAIN tomorrow and am going to try to be more realistic.

Don't give up you have nothing to lose but weight. Sometimes I can go from 6 weeks w/o seeing loss. Then all of a sudden bam it's gone. Track you measurements. Make sure you're hitting all the food groups to get the proper nutrients.

I peeked at your food diary. I saw one of the high days you were talking about and I'm pretty sure it didn't make a difference b/c I have those days too. You may want to try to nix the "beverages" they can work against you. :flowerforyou:

When I work out I usually don't eat over 1,350 cals but that's just me bc I don't want to eat back all the calories I have burned. I love walk away the pounds (if you're talking about Leslie Sansone).....the only downfall is you have to do at least 3 miles though to really burn a decent amount of calories. Definitely do another dvd (as you stated the 30 day shred) with it and you should see inches lost if nothing else. Lastly you could have a thyroid issue so that may be something you want to explore if the scale still doesn't budge...stay determined, don't give up and I sincerely wish you much success on your journey :flowerforyou:

    do not give up

keep eating healthy (add more veggies and whole grains)

keep drinking water (just water, without adding anything)

try giving up caffeine, sugar, and artificial sweeteners

    do not give up

I agree with taking measurements- sometimes you won't see the loss on the scale, but your waist and hips will be smaller. Weight is a funny (scary) thing...you know, when you have that feeling that you've lost a lot of weight, and then jump on the scales only to realize you're up a pound, but you KNOW you're smaller- that's where measurements come in handy.

    __

Cardio also builds muscle to some extent- particularly if you've gone from being sedentary to active- your muscles have to get stronger to compensate.

when I started It took me 5-6 weeks to see my first pound lost. and depending on how much you have to lose? the less you have to lose ,the slower it will come off. I am at my last 15pounds and I may lose 1 pound a month, if I'm really being good and eating right and working out. so just be patient and give it time. You have nothing to lose by the weight. if it takes you 6month or 6 yrs, your still planning on wanting to be at a lower weight by then, right? SO DON"T GIVE UP.
