Does anybody have issues when eating out?

So, I try to eat pretty clean, but I still go out to eat on occasion. Lately my issue has been when I request foods WITHOUT sauce/dressing/mayo etc. Since I've cut out most processed foods, I get pretty sick if I do have mayo or some certain dressings/condiments.

Last night I had a cheeseburger wrap, I asked for NO RANCH (the menu had listed mayo on other wraps, and ranch on mine, no mayo), and when I got it, it was swimming in mayo

What's up with places that just assume 'oh since they don't want ranch, they probably want mayo?' Should I just ask for stuff 'dry'? Do I have to specifically say, 'no dressing, no sauce, no condiments'? Does anybody else have problems asking for adjustments to food? I didn't think it would be so hard to not put in an extra ingredient.

I always just ask specificially ask for whats on said item. That way if it comes out incorrectly then its on the waitress and not me not knowing or saying something specific.

Sometimes you need to be very specific. I went out and had a sandwich it didnt state if it had mayo on it or not - but i was specific to ask for no mayo just in case. Sometimes when you say no ranch - they will replace it with something else. If you want no condiments - just say no condiments please.

It is ok to ask and talk to the wait staff about the food you are considering ordering. Just be nice about it. As for it swimming in mayo I probably would have asked to send it back.

    Communication is essential when ordering
