Since I changed my diet drastically late January I have noticed that my toenails are growing out a nice healthy pink color instead of the yucky yellow/pink they have been from years...I've cut processed foods mostly try to use fresh/raw ingredients and keep the sodium under 2000 a day...has anyone else had this happen?

Not exactly but my nails are stronger and my hair is growing faster. I believe it has to do with hormone changes - as you burn fat, your body is releasing estrogen - and your whole body is probably working better - which means ALL your hormones are working better too.

Me me me!! My nails have never really been strong but they are much better now with a healthy diet. Ive noticed my skin is alot better too and I've had friends comment on it and say I have a healthy glow now. ;-)

Since quitting smoking and starting to focus on healthy eating and exercise January last year, my nails and hair are both so much healthier and LONGER! My hair is the longest it has ever been, after trying for about 10 years to grow it :-)

Also, my skin is the best it has ever been!

Just goes to show how bad food and an unhealthy lifestyle can really affect your body in so many ways!

I'm not sure if it's because I'm growing my nails out for the first time ever (chronic nail biter... it's an unconscious, horrible habit) but my nails are like a really pale pink/white with a little bit of purple and the surface it covered in lines and pits. The tips are peeling and easily bendable. Some of my lunula also disappeared... used to have them on all fingers but now it's just thumbs (and disappearing from there, too). I'd show pics but I got super nervous during a test and peeled them off.

It's been two weeks and they're not growing yet.

I've also changed my diet-- so many more veggies, less processed food, but I'm having the opposite problem.

I also cut out most processed foods and was out on a 10 mile run a few weeks ago and met up with a holistic practitioner who was chatting with us about health, he looked at my nails and said WOW! your nails are awesome!! good sign your body is getting great nutrition! :)

great job on getting your body great nutrition! :)

    Vitamin E and K?
    I think!

I have to cut my thumb nails every few days because I could kill ppl with them!

I've always had super strong healthy quick growing nails. For awhile there, they were the only thing healthy about me.

I've eatten healthy and seen no difference but when I increased my calciun and protein levels my nails stopped cracking. They are as long as they have ever been and noticably stronger.
