Need some blogs/sites for recipes
I am a single guy who likes to cook his own food rather than eating outside. The problem is that my area of expertise in kitchen is fairly limited. I can cook various Indian/Pakistani/Arabic dishes that my family have taught me and some Italian dishes I learned in Italy but outside of that, I don't know much.
I like spicy food, anyone got any blog or website with good and simple recipes? Doesn't really have to be ultra healthy, I try to portion control rather than live on fat-free food.

I second Silver_Star's suggestions, though have only personally tried a few recipes from the sites.
If I'm in a hurry, there are some basic spice "combos" that seem to work with different ingredients (meats, veggies):
1) red chili + cumin powder + garlic (also comes in paste form at Indian stores)
2) garam masala (whole, cured in some hot oil till it crackles), with ginger & garlic paste
3) coriander powder, red chili, cumin powder, turmeric powder (little bit)
4) coriander powder, onion flakes, garam masala, coconut milk
5) garam masala powder + diced green chillies + lemon juice
Things to vary with above:
- add onion (either flakes, or fresh : lightly cooked in some oil)
- a yogurt marinade with ginger-garlic and/or garam masala powder (particularly for meats)
- diced tomatoes (esp with #1, #3, #4)0 -
For ideas and recipes, I like norecipes.com by Marc Matsumoto. Like me, he's Japanese American raised in California, so our tastes are very similar. Lots of Japanese food based recipes but also a lot of other ethnic foods as well.0

Like another poster mention, allrecipes.com is GREAT! You can find every recipe under the sun on that site, free! Plus people leave their ratings and comments on every recipe on that site so you know what tweaks to make for an even better dish! I have found so many recipes on that site that my family loves and I've been making for years.0

Also what has worked well for me in finding recipes and ideas is typing in the names whatever ingredients I have on hand into Google with the word recipe and search.0

Chow.com: http://www.chow.com/
Yesterday we made: http://chinese.food.com/recipe/barbecued-red-roast-pork-tenderloin-55242 It was also delicious.
And, believe it or not, pinterest's food and drink section is a good place to get ideas. There and foodgawker. Most of the things I see I know I can't make on a regular basis or it's something I have to save for a "special occassion," (you should see how many links are in my "Desserts (and other bad things for you)" bookmark folder...) but I find a bunch of stuff out there.0 -
Check out my blog Delaine's Skinny Delights! I upload a new recipe every day! Also, I have the recipe blogs I follow listen on it so you can check those out for recipes too. Just copy and paste this into your browser:

Above is a link to my recipe website (which is still a baby lol) but has some recipes on and we'll continue to add more. We like to experiment with our cooking so the recipes on there are completely ours there are a couple we've picked up along the way and then changed it to what we like.
If you love spice you'll love Thai food! We are obsessed with Thai Cuisine. There is a recipe of there you could try.0 -
Epicurious! They have all the recipes from all the cooking magazines, and they're organized so everything is really easy to find.
I also like sister sites www.justbento.com and www.justhungry.com. The first one shows various ways you can pack yourself a nutritious lunch a la Japanese bento. The second has a bunch of Japanese recipes, which are often (but not always) fairly healthy.0 -

Here is a breakfast that I have been fixing that seems to target belly fat. I have lost 2 inches around my belly over that last four weeks.
