Am I supposed to be netting my bmr?

Quick question. Should I be netting my bmr or simply eating my bmr?ive read overand over that my bmr is what I should be eating at minimum yet mfp has my net goals at 1320? On days I don't workout this is what I eat. I really wish I could just get a direct answer!

My bmr is 1600 my tdee is 2100 on days I don't actually work out to 2500 on workout days.

yes, net. If you choose to eat BMR, you DO eat the exercise calories. This is best if you are a new or inconsistent exerciser.

Your TDEE is the same whether or not you workout on any given day, so check that formula again.

    Here's one:

You would not eat exercise calories on top of TDEE bc they are already included, UNLESS you burn an exceptionally high amount on a particular day that would result in your net calories being less than BMR -- then you would eat whatever portion of calories necessary to net BMR.

Eating at your TDEE will maintain your weight. You may choose to cut 10, 15, or 20% from your TDEE, or you may just choose to eat at the TDEE of your goal weight (makes things simpler): fat2ritradio.com

I would personally not recommend using TDEE to someone who is an inconsistent exerciser.

Somewhere bt BMR and TDEE is the sweet spot for losing weight. You must give it time to find it.

check out the group: EAT MORE TO WEIGH LESS and read the stickies for more specifics on this.

    blessings.

I suspected as much. I've been EATing my BMR or a little over, and that is FAR below net (or net BMR)...but I don't usually burn a ton exercising, between 250 and 500 cals. I really can't imagine eating that much more...well I sort of can, but that's how I gained the 10 lbs last fall in the first place, and felt awful. I'm losing 1 lb a week right now...(less than MFP's predictions, but totally fine with me) and I feel great. I'm sure some would say stick with this if it's working, and some would say I'm going to shrivel up and die, right? Hmmmm...
