Need Tips on Measuring Recipes

I'm started to get frustrated when making meals trying to figure out how many calories are in them.

For example, tonight I made a pasta sauce with lean ground beef. I put all the ingredients into the recipe spot on MFP but it's a pain to figure out serving sizes without somehow weighing the whole batch or measuring cup by cup everything you've made. Does anyone have any tips on how to make this easier? (I also had this problem recently with a batch of soup I made)

Also, when you are boiling pasta and the bag indicates dry measurements how do you portion your own out properly when cooking for other people who don't need to be so strict?

I feel like I can do really well when making meals for myself but when it comes to cooking a meal that isn't easily divided and measured such as meat and veggies, it gets really frustrating to know what you're getting!

I've just accepted that I need to weigh the whole batch after I finish making it... or pre-portion into x servings of the same size. Just find out the weight of whatever you cook it in before you add the ingredients (or a big bowl or whatever) then put the whole thing on the scale after and subtract the weight of the container. Then you have the recipe by 100g or oz or whatever.
