Reaching for a Goal and Needing Help!

I am 29 years old and have been over weight my entire life. Just like all others, I have tried all kinds of diets and exercises but the fast paced life of today keeps me from going out to gyms like many others. I have a husband who is disabled and can not work, so that leaves me to be the only income that our home recieves. I am searching for help in making a small dream come true, a treadmill. I have always loved walking but to find the time to go out and walk or head to a gym, well there just isn't enough time with work and taking care of our home. To have a treadmill in my home that would hold my weight, that I can walk on daily and make myself an exercise routine would be the best thing for me. I am not asking for large amount of donations, just $1-$5 to help me get to my goal and become a healthier person. Thank You. To Donate>>>> http://www.gofundme.com/nu8yk

Trust me if you want to lose the weight you will find time to walk. Walk outside it is free.
  • If u have time to use a treadmill at home you have time to walk out your front door and take a walk.

I agree with everyone above, you dont need to spend alot of money! I cant currently afford to spend £50 (around $80 USD) on the gym every month, so i've started getting into walking, cycling (a bike cost the same as about 2months gym membership) and the occasional swim when the local pool has 'adult' swimming sessions which is only around £2.50 ($4)..... However, extersizes is for building stamina, cardiovacular health and muscle build/toning. Exersize on its own will not make you loose weight (it can actually have an adverse affect) the great advantage of exersize is that you can eat more in eating back your calories, so having a cheat day isnt actually a cheat day as you burn it off!

Although my profile only shows an 5kg/11lb loss i've actually already lost around 24lbs through just eating a bit better over the last few months and controlling portion size (i only just discovered the mobile app) but now im gunning for a big loss of 35kg (77lbs) over the next 5 or so months and starting to work on the above through exersize once i've lost around a third of my goal! The best place to start is purely looking at your diet, portion size and nutritional makeup to get the ball rolling, then start to add in exersize which fits around your budget and aspirations...

I GURANTEE that if you just buy a treadmill, after 2 weeks it will be sitting there covered in dust because it gets boring... but you cant build a house without the foundations... start off right if you truly want to continue on this path.

Dear users, I wanted to offer a brief explanation for locking this thread,

If you refer to the forum guidelines:

    14. No Advertising, Self-Promotion, or Fund-Raising
    b) Requests or solicitations for donations are also not allowed. This includes requesting contributions to “pooled fund” competitions, requests for votes in any venue (online contests, etc.), and even requests for charitable contributions. As you can imagine, we have a lot of people who would like to raise money for worthy causes through the site. As much as we'd like to support these causes, if we were to allow requests for donations, the forums would quickly become full of such requests which would take away from the main purpose of the forums - to support one another.
