Do you guys have a cheat day?

Just wondering if anyone "goes hard" with their dieting/excercising all week and then... on the weekend or whatever day of your choice, do you eat what you want? Will this defeat the purpose of your had weeks work? Thoughts please..Thank you.

I weigh in on Fridays... Usually I try to stay within my calorie goal, but if there is a calorie packed dinner or snack that I want I have it and don't worry too much. I used to use weigh in as a FREE day...litterally all day ate whatever calorie packed fatty food I could get my hands on. These days I choose to give myself a little leeway daily instead of going nuts on ONE day. We all do things so differently from each other, but each plan seems to work for each individual! I love that! :flowerforyou:

Not me. I eat a lot all the time, so I don't really feel the need for a cheat day. Sometimes, if I know I'm going for a long run the next day, I'll eat about 500 calories over my "budget" for the day because I know I'll burn 1200-1500 the next day on my run.

Thanks guys..I just don't want to over do it..Beacause I know if I deprive myself I will binge and defeat the whole purpose. I will I did know more accurately how many calories I was burning. I think I will invest in a HRM.

I watch that weekly calorie report to see where I stand. If I don't eat back all my exercise calories everyday, I consider that to be some wiggle room. One thing I like about MFP is that I have to earn those extras though! I got here through too many cheat days, so I try to have them now only a controlled way.

I don't have one. I used to and it seemed like I would spend the next few days working off the 2-3lbs of water weight I put on. Now, if there is something I want I make sure I work it into my daily calories or burn it off. That being said, I don't eat crapppy foods everyday either. I'm a strong believer in moderation.

Thanks for your input! I like the moderation idea, because I know for a fact that I will go overboard. If I have a "cheat' day it usually ruins everything I worked hard for because I will over do it! I will try working it into the dailly calorie intake. Thanks guys!!
