I asked for a small

I took my son for his driver's test today and he passed. He was too nervous (and so was I) to eat before so I went to Dunkin Donuts. I really wanted a large coffee coolatta, but I stepped back and realized that would be a terrible choice. So I ordered a small. In my life, I cannot remember ordering anything size "small." Best part was that it was too much for me and I couldn't finish it. This may not be a true NSV, but I have always believed that little steps lead to bigger steps. So hooray for me!

    This has happened to me.

What's funny is that a "small" would be a "large" in a country like Japan. Try getting a small there :P

Yup, that's an NSV. Learning portion control is the key to losing weight and keeping it off. Denying yourself utterly is the way to lose the weight now and gain it back when you go back to your old habits. It's a much bigger NSV than you might think...

    Definitely an NSV!!!

This happens to me frequently. I order a small of somethign and realize it was plenty. But when i get a medium or large, I consume it anyway just because it's there. Why do I do that? I think it's that "eyes are bigger than my stomach" thing or I am scared if I don't go ahead and get the big one I'll be disappointed at not having enough when it's over.

I think you should practice more of getting a small size of anything, and it will help you learn that the smaller really is enough. Slow changes, slow changes.....

    WTG!!!

I can relate. I used to always order A LOT of food. I would make sure to order more than enough, just in case I wanted more and didn't want to worry about going back to get it. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and that made me gain a ton of weight. It took me awhile of logging food portions to really understand how little I actually needed.
