Burn more when injured?

In an attempt to heal my pulled muscle in my back, my only exercise the last couple days has been walking (and stretching). I haven't gone for a walk since I got my HRM, so I have no point of reference, but my HRM said I burned surprisingly higher number of calories than I would have guessed. The first day I walked for an hour (I estimate I walk 3 MPH but may have been slower with my sore back) and it said I burned 400 some, and yesterday I walked 40 minutes and it said I burned 350 or something like that.

That seems really high just for a walk....I'm sure I am working harder because it is harder to walk with this injury, but does that sound right? My HRM is the Reebok XT or whatever it is with the chest strap.

I walked for an hour the other day with my F6 (hills and such) and I burned 440 calories but Sunday I walked all flat and I only burned 350
So your numbers sound about right
