A few things about running

#1 I suck at it
Seriously though, I have noticed that sometimes I will start out running, feeling great, and then my stomach will start to bloat (sometimes with side cramps, sometimes not). I was wondering if anyone else experiences this, or what I can do to prevent it.
Also, anything to help prevent fingers from swelling up? This happens to me everytime I run or even just walk.
Thanks!

Hey!
I'm not sure about how to prevent your fingers from swelling, but something that helps is if you put your hands above your head. I do this when i'm cooling down from running. about the side cramps, my best friend has been a runner for years and she always told me to stretch my side out. You know, by putting your arm over your head and leaning to the side. It always seems to help me! Good Luck!0 -
sometimes when I hike or run when it's hot my hands swell. When you stop just hold your hands above your heart and you will literally feel the blood flow out of them. I think everyone bloats a little when they work out because you are hydrating more and also because your muscles are warming up and opening your veins to more blood flow to give your body more oxygen. Cramps can come from lactic acid building up in your muscles, crossing your body with your arms when you run can cause this so when you run try to keep your arms parallel with your sides, think " ear to hip" i.e. when you run your right hand should move up towards your right ear and down towards your hip, not crossing your body... left hand goes left ear to left hip etc. My track coaches used to train that into us haha. Hope that helps!!0
