My name is Pam and I have 103 pounds left to lose. I just lost ten, so that is a small step on a long journey. I am a retired nurse and I was in training for a half marathon when I fell down some stairs and broke my leg and destroyed my ankle. Two surgeries later, I still have a lot of trouble with any weight baring excercise. I also have arthritis in my back, left hip and knees. I sat for about 3 years recovering from everything and put on almost 80 pounds. Now it's time to get it off. As I can't do the things I used to do, I turned to water aerobics, swimming, and slowly building up my endurance on the elliptical trainer. But no more running or hiking, things I loved. I would love to meet people on here that have a lot to lose and are working through aches and pain, too.
