Ok everyone... I thought it would be really helpful to have a thread where everyone can share their best weight loss tip

Keep it short, sweet and simple to follow...

Here's mine:

Always be conscious of what your body wants / needs. Eg. Always ask "Am I really hungry?" "Do I really need to finish this meal?" "Is it worth eating this chocolate bar after trying so hard on my run this morning?"

Looking forward to hearing yours...

Great thread topic! Mine would be eat less than you burn! Okay that's too obvious. How about try not to fixate on food and losing weight. Just find a good plan (like losing 1lb / wk on MFP) and stick to it. Get involved in other things to occupy your mind with. Give yourself a lot of time to lose the weight- one year.

Pretty much the main one is don't let one bad day turn into a bad week or month. Wake up the next morning and forget it even happened.

Oh, and always carry healthy snacks ;)

Set goals you can control, not ones you cant.

Do one small thing everyday - a little something extra like park in the farther parking space or take the stairs. Small victories add up to large successes :)

Be consistent and stay positive. Weight loss especially the sustainable kind wont happen overnight, but if you try to eat healthy most of the time and exercise regularly - even a 20 minute walk or playing with your dogs - then eventually you will see results!
