Slip up management

Evening! Right I'm trying to approach my diet from a whole new angle this time and so looking for more advice. Looking at my diary I notice the main thing stopping me from successful weight loss is how I manage things when I go over my allowance or give in to temptation so this time I think I need to develop a positive way to manage these slip up so they dont ruin all my hard work...
What I'm wondering is...
When you eat too much during the day or give in to an unplaned treat what do you do? Skip next meal? Carry on as planned? exercise more? Eat less the next day?
Any ideas or experiences welcome. :-)

If its in the morning or early afternoon, I tried and adjust the next meal and drink more water; otherwise, I lighten it up a little the next day. However, I don't scold myself when this happens anymore. For me, its counterproductive and hinders me more with the guilt which I don't need, rather than moving on proactively. Hope this helps. It works for me.0

I think your right... Beating myself up about it just ends up with an even worse outcome.0
