Morning Pebbs

So, I'm up at the tiniest crack of dawn to sub for a colleague (so much for my last day of teaching being yesterday) her partner is in the hospital and I need both the money and the karma. . .so off I go to proctor more exams. Proctoring exams is the worst part of teaching, IMHO. . .the tension in the room is palpable and you just have to sit there (today for six hours straight). I used to be very policewoman, walking the aisles and looking for cheaters. Now I bring snacks and magazines. I still catch the cheaters (I hate this. . .it is the worst procedure to have to go through, and can get students kicked out of school due to the strict code of conduct . . .which is as it should be. . .they get I think two with warnings and then they're out.)

Anyways, in other news. . .

Today I'm going to try a new spin class at my gym, hydrate, try to space out my food during the day and hydrate (a little harder when part of my day is six hours with no break. . .:ohwell: )

Take care, pebbles . . .:flowerforyou:

Don't think I could go six hours without a break. I can't go two hours. I guess I have the hydrate part down though

I did everything I said I would yesterday - biked to the store, yoga, and gym with husband. Today is kick butt yoga class and either bike to the library or walk on the treadmill. We are seeing Harry Potter on Saturday, so I'm watching some of the older movies to prepare. Great treadmill movies.

Amazingly enough - we have a break in the 100 degree weather ahead this weekend! Prediction for 96 on Sunday with a slight chance of rain. Yeah!

Grateful for any heat break, boogaloo!

Yep, I'm with you, Mary - I'd never make 6 hours unless I was dehydrated.

I did go jogging on the treadmill last night, but not quite as long or as far as last week. I tried to mix it up a bit with some faster intervals as well as some hills. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to try the Thursday trail run - depends on the weather (gorgeous today - although cool for you Texans - but possibly rainy on Thursday) and how I feel, I guess. I am finding that my right foot and left hip have been bothering me after running (though not really during). I've been trying to take ten minutes to really stretch afterwards. Does anybody know where to get that sort of tape that dancers/gymnasts use on their feet?

Tonight is belly dancing. And laundry! And troubleshooting my home theater project. :grumble: Other goals are eating reasonable portions and drinking my water. And to stop being wishy-washy about which strength routines I want to add in - I've been looking at several, but I need to actually pick one, print it out and start doing it!

    Busy bee boogaloo!

Okay I'm already tired. Lol. Fingerprinting took about 15 minutes(not including drive time. Didn't get to ride the train. Bummer). Took Alex to his tumbling class. I guess I didn't sleep as well last night as I thought I did. I'd like to take a nap.
Still trying to figure out the eating thing. I think I am eating too many grains and that's why the weight wasn't coming off. Rice pasta and corn tortillas to make up for not having wheat. I am doing what I can. I am going to try to run three times this week. I need to get back to exercising. I really think if I had a treadmill I would use it....I think. We just don't have the money or the space right now. I'd easily pop in a movie and run for awhile. I think I find running boring because I don't have an mp3 or ipod, or anything to listen to music for that matter. That would probably help.
I sure hope Alex takes a nap today. He was up till 10 last night and got up at 6 this morning. He should be tired.
    Have a great day all.

Y'all's vote...a treadmill or elliptical? Not that I can afford either one but I was just wondering.

Update: I only made it three hours without a break. . .luckily another teacher came and made sure my students didn't cheat. And, after those three hours, I pretty much ran down the hall to the restroom. So much for whatever dignity I still have left. . .I hate proctoring exams like poison. . .it's just so boring.

Oh, and MM. . .I'd vote for elliptical. But that's just me.:flowerforyou:

Also, I'm very excited because I just discovered a dance studio nearby now offers Zumba for $15.00 a drop-in class. I've been dying to try it, without committing to a big, expensive "10 classes for a zillion dollars" package. I'm going to try to go Saturday!

MM - I think an elliptical would be nicer to have, but I've heard that the cheaper ones are kinda flimsy.

I had a walk after lunch, went to belly dance after work, mowed the lawn, went out to dinner and got a salad, and then followed it up with a Mexican sundae. :embarassed: At least I split it with my husband... and it was really tasty. Came home, did laundry, and worked a little on my project. Still need to pick out a strength routine for the next couple of months.

V - if you like Latin music/dance, I bet you'll love Zumba. I think it's really fun and I appreciate that it's pretty low-pressure in terms of getting the moves "right".
