Night Eating is going to kill me

so I just started my journey and even though yesterday was day 1, my nightly ritual of raiding the cupboards when the kids go to sleep was in full effect last night!! its soooooooooooo hard to resist doing this!! Anyone have any helpful advise on what to do to help? This is pretty much why im overweight... i can't stop!! im already dreading tonight and its only 6:23pm!

If you are naturally a night eater, perhaps you should think about moving your eating window slightly later. Contrary to popular belief, it actually doesn't matter when you eat, only how much you eat. If you are like me I am more than happy not to eat my first meal until later in the day and save most of my calories to eat at night. I know this sounds like a crazy idea because we've all been brainwashed by the "you must eat breakfast" and "you musn't eat at night". However I have done my research and am satisfied that neither of those things are true. Ugh... I used to have horrible food cravings late at night. This is going to sound "out there" but honestly and truly: look at what's going on in your life and really give it some careful attention. Try using a "Life Wheel": http://personalexcellence.co/blog/life-wheel/ to identify what could be eating you up. But something is driving this.
For me, when I got to the source of the matter, I still had some physical cravings that wouldn't die. I honest-to-goodness just started going to bed early. Like hella-early. And drinking a lot of water to try to fill my stomach. I also had to take some L-glutamine to cut sugar cravings.
The good news is that if you can get through a week (a good 7 days) without doing it, you could be completely in the clear. I found that for me, it didn't take long for my body to snap out of it.0 -
I also recommend intermittent fasting. I don't eat in the mornings, then get to eat large, satisfying meals at night!0

IF is an option but not a necessity.
Just save up some cals for the end of the day. Think of high volume, low cal stuff at night. I particularly like sf jello, sf pudding mixes/cottage cheese or greek yoghurt, protein sludges, protein fluffs.0 -
when i cant resist and eat at night il go rope jumping right after for like an hour0

thanks for all the wonderful advice! I have calories left over so after realizing that eating after 7 wasn't going to kill me, I had a cucumber w/lemon and that did the trick I am def going to be doing some of the things you guys suggested! its just so hard... im hoping these craving dont last long!0

I personally eat (I'm doing it now with some sweet bell peppers and beef jerky) after 10pm daily. It's the time I wind down to catch up on recorded shows since my DD and DW go to sleep.
I do skip breakfast and don't eat again till between 12pm and 2pm again since I don't feel hungry. The majority of my calorie are at dinner and late night eating.
