I've been eating no more then 1000 calories a day for over 4 years now. I lost 96 pounds eating between 600-900 calories a day. Obviously I know this wasn't smart and I am kicking myself for it now, because I eat an apple and gain weight. I know I need to change I'm just scared of what's going to happen to my body. I am at a normal weight. I am not underweight. I'm 5''1 and my weight usually fluctuates between 112-118. Has anyone else been through this? I would love any advice.

Take it slowly - eat an extra 100 cals a day for a week or two, then go up again.
Don't stress too much about the scale in the meantime, put it away for a few months and make getting good nutrition a priority rather than the scale number. Your body will thank you in the long term!

I was consuming below 1000 cals per day before starting MFP this past February. After reading, non-stop on here I realized I needed to up my cals. So I have been and I just upped them to 1600 this week. I've seen nothing but positive signs that reinforces that i've made the right choice. I've only gained 4lbs at the most and that would also be due to the fact that i've been exercising a lot more. I've also just begun lifting weights, so my body is going through a lot of changes right now, but all of them good. This might be my last increase in cals, I haven't decided yet. I've been upping them about 100 per week or so at a time. I hope this helps and good luck. I'm sure you'll have more energy once you start.
