Hi
I was wondering if anyone has had a go with the laser lipo and if it was a success? There's a promotion running and I am giving it a go, I have stubborn thighs which need a bit of a helping hand.

So, anyone had any success with this and do you have pictures??

Thanks :flowerforyou:

    How does it work?

I know the dangers of laser hair removal, so I am suspicious. Lasers can severely damage your lymphatic system. I would make sure to look into all the research on adverse effects.

Are you talking about the real laser lipo where they stick the wand under your skin and suck the fat out or the fake laser lipo that [sarcasm]magically melts fat non-invasively [/sarcasm]

I know people who have used it for contouring their thighs, hips, butt, arms, and wasitline. . .They definitely lost inches quickly!!!!! My plastic surgeon is a little hesitant about it, so Im going to wait until he starts to use it. . .It has only been FDA approved a few years. . .so Im planning to wait until Im "as fit as can be" and then perhaps "fine tune" but GOOD LUCK. . .IM SUPER EXCITED FOR U!!! Be sure to post pics afterwards!!!

I got smart lipo on my arms and love handles ( I wanted to get my tummy done but they discovered a small umbilical hernia and couldn't do it) in April 2010-I wish I never had. I have heavy arms very resistant to shrinking due to genetics and thought for sure lipo was my answer. It wasn't, and the skin is dimply when I pull at it and is still sensitive after 2 years. My love handles have an odd coloring/streaking, kinda like broken blood vessels, and still have scars about the size of a magic marker tip. I think that the fat just found other places to go and is now not distributed evenly. I don't know what the technical term is for that! I spent about $5k between the two and it was such a mistake...

my sister had this done and lost a good 50 lbs. But guess what? You guessed it! She had to follow a very strict 3 or 4 stage diet that cut out all kinds of food groups. Starting out on a 600 calorie a day diet. Of course she lost weight! She also spent a bunch of money too. smh

Or you could do something crazy like lose body fat by eating less calories and "firm up" by lifting weights and learning to be happy with the body you've got and make improvements naturally. That might be a little to extreme for some people, though.

Quick fixes like lipo have no downside, right?

RealSelf is a good site for real stories. Most of what I heard, was to pass on it.

How did you find this thread?

Did you go through the forums, searching for someone to tell your sister's story to? Are you reading these chronologically and this thread was the first you found worthy of reply? HOW?
