Hi, im doing P90X and today was yoga!
I can tell you that i thought yoga was a pansy exercise and wellah, 1 hour and 30 minutes it went for.
I can tell you 9 minutes in i wanted to stop, i pushed on, 40 minutes into it i nearly collected a coffee table and hot eggs and decided id quit, but i pushed on suffocated under my large breasts, hurt my back on the same move and wellah 461 cals down and i feel so much more relaxed!
The point to this post is is there something else i can do because yoga is so long, slow and back breaking. I forced myself to continue, to finish and yes my muscles feel relaxed, but its not enjoyable.....its the worst hour and 30 of my awesome day!
I was surprised of my burn, but i feel next week i wont want to do it and I dont want to not do it, but i dont want to do, its 12 times in 12 weeks id have to do it and thats nothing to be happy bout!
Any thoughts?

A lot of people don't like the p90x yoga, mostly because it is too long and boring. It is long. Since I work out in the mornings, sometimes I don't have the time to finish it and I only do up to the stretching part. Sometimes I finish the other half after work. I push myself to do the yoga because I think it is important. It strengthens and stretches your muscles.0

What does "wellah" mean?
I would advise doing a shorter session if 90 mins is too long. Different forms of yoga can be more concise. It's advisable to go to a class when you first start out - there are adaptations for anything you might have found difficult. I'm not surprised you didn't like it this way.0 -
What poses hurt your back? Your back should not hurt.
I don't know the px stuff, but the poses should be the same.0 -
I had never done yoga before P90X and I thought it was really hard, especially because I'm not flexible at all.
I thought the first few minutes were boring as I am used to running and sweating a lot to feel like I had a good work out.
But after he initial breathing exercises I realized I was getting a good workout because I was sweating so much. Even though there wasn't a lot of movement like in running, I was exerting a lot of energy trying to hold the poses and working a lot of muscles I normally wouldn't work trying to balance myself.
So in short, I actually liked P90X yoga. Yes it's long and there are some moves that are too hard for beginners (like the crane), but there are always substitutes for the moves.
What move were you doing when you hurt your back? Are you are pretty flexible person? Has it been a while since you did some serious stretching? My advice to you would be to maybe use yoga blocks? That's what I did because with some positions I had a hard time putting my palms on the floor and the blocks really helped. I would also suggest that if you can't go all the way into a stretch, don't overexert yourself. Go as far as you comfortably can, and try to go a bit further next time.
If I were you I would try to stick to doing yoga. At least give it a few more tries. I know I wanted to quit after the 1st 40 minutes because I was so bad at it but as I got better I started liking it. You get a good burn so it's good for weight loss. Not only that, it improves balance, flexibility, and helps you relax so it's good for overall fitness. Try to set yourself little goals within the yoga dvd instead of focusing on how boring you think it is. If you can't do a certain move you can aim to perfect that move within the next 2 weeks, or do an advanced variety of a certain move etc.. Focus on these.
It is different from what you are used to so give it a few more tries and if you still absolutely hate it then maybe you can do the stretch dvd? Or if you have the insanity dvd you can do the cardio recovery, it has some stretching, light cardio and some ab work.0
