I lived on a canal like this when I was first married. It was on an island south of Venice called Chioggia--a fishing village. Then my husband transferred to Rome.1 -

Funny thing--throwing a coin in the fountain works. I was in Rome on a university trip, threw a coin in, and returned to live here.1 -

When I was first married you got in to see the Colloseum for free. Now it costs 16 Euros. There is a park called Colle Oppio above the Colloseum where I took my kids to play almost everyday for years.1 -

I've been thinking about your question. Here, in Italy, you don't hear country music much. American Pop music all the time. Country doesn't click with them. When you think about it, it's a whole fresh market, it could be a huge opportunity if they could take off here. However, the powers that be in American Country Music don't seem interested either. Just an observation.1 -
@snowflake954 Ennio was way ahead of time. He changed the way movies sound and he was lit.
"Ennio Morricone, November 10, 1928 in Rome, is an Italian composer famous for his film scores, especially in Spaghetti Western. He has composed over 500 scores for Films and TV shows, but only about 30 of these are for Western. Morricone's sparse style of composition for the genre is particularly exemplified by the soundtracks of the classic spaghetti westerns, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly ( Sergio Leone, 1966) and Once Upon a Time in the West ( Sergio Leone, 1968). His score for that film, with its sparse arrangements, unorthodox instrumentation (bells, electric guitars, harmonicas, the distinctive twang of the harp) and memorable tunes, revolutionized the film music. Ennio Morricone also worked under the aliases Dan Savio and Leo Nichols."
He passed away at the age of 91 in Rome, Italy on July 5, 2020

Every 40 years there's a musical renaissance but we haven't had one since the 60's and 70's. It's dull as dirt. Very little is memorable and I can't put a name or place to any of it that leaves much of a lasting impression like the musical art that was created back in the 60's and 70's. That music is being used on all of the commercials here because it leaves a hook right in your soul.
