I was only going to play one song but then I got on a jag. I have a terrier and you know how lil dogs get on a running jag. They bounce off the couch at a glancing blow, hit the easy chair and run around the house until they're worn out. I'm just like my dog.2

I used to embarrass myself and ask the moderators to delete everything. Now, I just bury myself.

And for my sisters who've never taken the easy road. Keep on keepin' on.1 -
The afterburner. I always call my sisters back after we hang UP. Why, because I have an afterburner thought. They say, Ooo, let me guess, here comes the afterburner. It's the reader's digest version, in a nutshell without the whole bushel.
I have one but I would embarrass myself all over again. So I stick a finger in the dam and keep my mouth shut with songs and photos. If I let one drop slip through the cracks then no telling how many songs it would take to bury all of that.

It's a shame you deleted, but I understand--there was personal stuff in there, too personal. I remember. Some fantastic stories. I hope you're writing a book for the future. It's a shame to lose those stories, and one day it won't matter. But you're right, stuff gets buried and it's impossible to go back and find it. You're safe if you keep it on a certain level. Just keep down in the weeds sometimes.
As for Thanksgiving, Italy has traditions, and I have traditions, and then I make stuff up too.
I don't do a "Big Chick" because they don't sell them whole here and my husband is not a meat eater. The "Chick" is sold in pieces--drumsticks, thinly sliced breast, etc.
What I usually have first off are deviled eggs. I make mine with mayo, paprika, pepper, chopped onion, and a little salt.
I have those that don't like them so I make plain boiled eggs too.
The eggs are served with sliced salumi and ham.
The Italians always serve a bread with cheese in it. I got a great recipe off of MFP for an Asiago bread that I just love and make for the occasion.
I have always made spinach and ricotta filled cannoli in a tomato sauce, topped with cheese and baked in the oven.
This year I bought ravioli filled with shrimp and a special mozzarella cheese. I'll probably make a sauce with cream and cheese.
I usually make a meat in the oven--chicken or a beef brisket.
I have salad
Fruit is always on the table--I may buy a pineapple, or make a fruit salad.
Desert is very traditional here--Chocolate eggs, The "pastiera" which is a Naples specialty. Everyone has traditional family recipes and gives them for gifts. My BIL is a doctor and his patients shower him with this stuff. He always sends us a few, since they don't keep long. It's extremely rich, but fantastic. Then there is the "Colomba", which is a sweet bread, baked in the shape of a cross. All the grocery stores sell them, along with huge chocolate eggs with a "surprise" inside.
We usually close with a limoncello. A friend of mine makes the best.1 -
Oooo, I wish I was there. It sounds heavenly.

@snowflake954 When I post these songs and photos, I straighten UP my papers like I'm working really hard. Like I'm back at the office and somehow all seems well. All is well.
