SnowCat, you know and I know that no one can prognosticate the future. If they could, they could tell you what lotto numbers and stocks to pick. They could tell you what's going to happen tomorrow or next month but we know that no one can do it. On both sides of my family, we receive warning dreams. They're for the present, like today. You know who's in your orbit or lurking around you. You know whom you're going to meet on a two lane highway down the road. You feel it, you know it, you see it. Your dog and cat can do all of these things, too. When you're dealin' with apex predators and creatures at the top of the food chain, you'd better be in touch with your senses. We've been around them all the days of our lives. It tunes you UP but you can't be playing tic-tac-toe on your smart phone with your head down if you want to get in touch with the reality that's around you.

If it's not accurate, then it's useless and worthless information. You improve the more you exercise your senses. It just takes time with focus. I don't like texting and I'm not good at it. I want to talk to someone directly so I can get a feel for what they're going through. I like sitting down with someone face-to-face.

I grew up wandering around in the deep timber with sibs. There were grizzlies everywhere. You could feel them and you knew they were there. Why we didn't ...catch my drift, I just don't know. Sometimes we shudder thinking how we spent 8 hours aday hiking and playing alone with wild animals all around us. I have no idea what Maw was thinking but as long as we were home for supper that's all that mattered. You can't turn your kids out in your neighborhoods let alone with predators with really big teeth. It's all a mystery to me.

Make fun, throw rocks. Your girl don't care. I usually get something as I'm headed out the door. Not every day or every week. Put your phone down and start practicing. SnowCat and I are simply using tin cans with strings stretched across oceans and rivers.
