Too much soy=hot flashes?

I have a question for any women out there who have experienced on-going hot flashes. I have read the studies that say soy can help reduce hot flashes. Can too much soy make them worse, in your experience?
I'm really looking for personal experience here, not scientific studies-but if you have 'em, post 'em. I just noticed that i went from having soy milk sometimes to having it every day with a scoop of soy protein and now my hot flashes are almost constant. I'm wondering if it's a direct correlation or if I should look for something else.

Why don't you try stopping with the soy milk and soy protein and seeing if they stop?
Everybody is different, so this would be the best way of figuring out if it is true for you or not!0 -

These hot flashes are terrible...I've had them for 3.5 years (since I was 42). I've never tried soy, but I've tried everything else. The only thing that's helps is a dose of bio-identical estrogen used in conjunction with bio-identical progesterone. There is cancer in my family so I have to be careful.
After 3.5 years they are not near as frequent as they used to be, but I still get them once every hour or two. At this point they are almost tolerable.0 -
to much soy in your diet can cause estrogenic effects and could possibily whack out your hormones...so yes too much soy could be a trigger for more intense and frequent hot flashes....
If you eat a lot of packaged and processed food items, soy is everywhere....(and probably 97% of the time genetically modified as well)
There is a lot of information out there - I did a ton of research on soy when my daughter was diagnosed as lactose/casien intolerant and told to replace her milk products with soy...after all the reading I did there was no way I was doing that and she switched to almond and coconut milk products (still processed products for the most part, but without the possible estrogenic effects - which for a tween girl she doesn't need anything else whacking out her hormones - puberty does that enough)0 -
My hot flashes are killing me. I take Remifemin and hot flash spray & still flashing!!!
Uggg I need a Xanax!
