I weigh myself everyday, which I know I probably shouldn't do. But my weight fluctuates really bad. Like this morning I weighed myself and I gained 2 lbs since yesterday. Did I really gain 2 lbs overnight or is it just the time of day I weigh in or what? It is very discouraging.

Did you eat an extra 7,000 calories yesterday?
If no, it's just normal variation (water, BM (yes, gross), even if you ate a large breakfast...)

Unless you are 7000 calories over your maintenence you didn't gain 2lbs of fat. Weight changes daily and hourly for a lot of different reasons.

You said you shouldn't weight yourself daily and yet you do. Do you know why you shouldn't do that? I will quote you: "it's very discouraging."

First of all, do it once a week, same day, same time. In fact, do it in the morning after you pee, that way there are less variables. Your weight varies every minute. I weight 146 in the morning and by afternoon I am up to 152.

I was 100 calories under my goal yesterday but I didn't do my normal exercises. I played basketball and frisbee instead which burned about the same amount of calories I usually do. I have been on this constant struggle with weight loss since December. I will lose weight for a few weeks and then gain weight for a few weeks. So I pretty much stay the same weight.

If you know you shouldn't do it, why do you? Weigh yourself once a week - max.
