Is it worth buying? Is it any good?

So, I do alot of food reviews on my blog, and I'm curious what health foods people are interested in that they would like to try but don't want to buy first themselves. Anyone?

Define health foods. I'm a chef and I just picked the first asparagus of the season from my garden, yum. I think people would be head over heals with heirloom beets, just make sure you roast or steam them to maintain the colourfl interiors.

How do they compare to a regular beet as far as taste goes?

I used to hate beets, because all I ever had was canned. (yuck)

I love fresh beets, and make them all the time in the pressure
cooker. (20 mins for medium size, 30 mins for softball size.) 15psi
Peel, cut in half, then quater medium sized beets. Then I use
a little bit of sea salt, fresh cracked pepper, and toss in some
balsamic vinegar! Great, now I want to go munch on a couple. LOL

Well, I guess just healthy foods..not "health foods". :) I'm def of a fan of the fresh and real---that's the best way to eat. I guess I'm just curious what MFP'ers would have me review.

Well, most of the beets people are familiar with like red beets sometimes have a very earthy (dirty) taste with some sweet undertones, which I like btw, but the heritage varieties are generally sweeter and have a more intense beet flavour without the earthy taste. White, golden and candy stripe are the ones I have now and going to use this weekend. The beet tops are also a great taste and should always be used either in salads or sauteed imo

    quinoa
    artichokes
    brussel sprouts
    edamame
    asparagus

Those are things I eat, people turn their nose up at. I'm sure they would appreciate new recipes or ways to try them.

    Mmm, love quinoa!

I would like to see reviews on KALE! I've heard it's such a superfood but don't know of anyone personally who can stand the stuff.

I have had raw jicama on a veggie tray before and it really intrigued me but I don't know a) where to buy it or b) how to eat/use it/health benefits
