Tonight i took my new bike and rode around our local reservoir - 3.8 miles.

It felt great!

This was my first bike ride as an adult and i am now 42..... i do wonder why i waited so long before realising that exercise can be fun. I have been going to the gym and following my new healthier way of life since Feb 14th and can honestly say that i feel soooooo much more alive and healthy than i have for years!

Hoping to go out on my bike again tomorrow - i'll just have to wait and see how my bum (ouch that seat!!) and my legs are feeling

I just started biking again, and I HAD to go purchase a wide, gel-type seat. $30 at Walmart- great investment. :)

Congratulations Jax!!! That had to feel sooo great!

BrendaLee - I might have to do that, I HATE being sore from a hard bike seat... makes me miserable for a couple of days.

I got a new bike last summer but I had to invest in a better seat this summer! Well worth it....I rode about 15 miles yesterday and might need to invest in bike shorts with pads if I plan to do that every day!! :)

    Biking is fun!

Just wanted to add a tip for those who mentioned the "pain in the butt" biking can be. Bike shorts make a big difference, but buy gender specific. The padding is shaped differently for men & women. Also, if you start to get really serious about it, a women's-specific seat is great!!! Expensive, but well worth it on long rides. Check out your local bike shops. Happy pedaling!!! :drinker:
