In a Serving: How much is too much?

I am curious about how much: Sodium, Carbs, Protein, Cholesterol should be avoided in a singe serving... or just what to watch out for. I am hoping that with this knowledge I can better control my water retention issues. I've always retained more than most, but some days it is over the top!
Thanks!

Water retention is commonly due to excess sodium and insufficient potassium. It's really about the balance between the two, not "sodium is the devil." Try getting more potassium and trimming back your sodium intake. Things like beans, bananas, and spinach are loaded with potassium. Most vegetables are loaded with potassium so just find some you like to eat and chow down.
Generally, you should be eating as much whole quality home-cooked food as possible. Of course, you can have some prepackaged foods, but they won't have the nutritional value that fresh fruit, homecooked meats, and veggies have. It's all about finding a balance that works for you.0
