I think I need friends

This feels a bit strange to me, I'm not an antisocial or loner type of person, I think, but I do tend to prefer to work things out on my own. Well I'm almost 25 now, and Ive been constantly trying different diets since I was 12 with little success so I'm thinking maybe its time to try something new and find a buddy to work with.

I'm 6"2' and weigh in at weigh in at 280lbs and Id like to get down to at least 200. I could go on forever with details of my exercise and dieting, motivations and such. So anybody interested in making a new friend and helping out a newbie MFPer?

I can always use more friends, feel free to add me.

I'm 5'10 and 250 trying to get down to 200 also, I've never weighed less than 200 so that's what I strive for!

Sounds like I'm in a very similar situation compared to you. I'm 27 years old, 6' 1.5", started at 280lb (now around 260lb), and I'm shooting for an athletic build at 208lb.

I play a lot of sports. My main motivation is performance on the playing field.

    Feel free to add me.

I would love a buddy, I'm starting tomorrow. I can get demotivated very quickly, I'm a wee bit impatient for results. Do add me if you want. Emma x

Hello dzebs and angeliis I am also new to this and have tried countless times to lose weight but I will never give up. I am 46 and weigh 311 and am trying to get down to between 150 and 160, I am 5"4'. This is the most I have ever weighed in my life and I know if I don't get a handle of my weight It will continue to climb. I just started walking again it was tough the first day and is still tough but I keep adding and I let as many people know as possible. I have people asking me have you walked today or do you need to go get a bottle of water and this helps me to be accountable.

People typically do better when they know someone is watching them (called social facilitation), and that's why we could all probably use some more fitness buddies! Feel free to add me

Everyone uses everyone else on MFP for motivation, and also to help other out when they need a little help staying on track.
It makes a big difference doing this with so many other people who have decided to make better changes and improve and find their new lives.

Add me to your friends if you haven't got dozens already.

Let's be friends! I just started this myfitness thing and I, at 5'6'' (girl) use to weigh a whopping 256lb. I was like no freaking way, I walk up a flight of stairs and be winded. So I started dieting, lost 10lbs in two weeks, then 10 more and 10 more... Today, that's 30.2lbs I lost in 5-7months eating healthy and exercising. I run, swim, jog, Zumba and I do boot camp. Sorry I'm rambling, I just got done dancing!
