Any food service workers out there?

I was wondering how many people we have here who work in the food industry? I am a cook and do some hobby baking on the side. I know that being surrounded by food can wreck hvoc on my diet if I allow it, and the long and stressful hours are much of a help either. Luckily (sarcasim), ten years working with seafood has led to me developing a shelfish allergy so I can't eat really anything at work. We don't get breaks either so I don't have a chance to eat until I get home and by that time I'm usually super hungry and end up eating more than I normally would. Does anyone else go through this, too?

I'm a server and I eat on the job! It's such a bad habit. I try to eat the fruit instead of the ice cream...

I know there are food laws and such, but can you pack small baggies of raisins, dried fruit, nuts, etc and eat while you're cooking?

I've been taking a protien drink with me and that's working a little better. Some people do eat while they are working there but with my allergy I try to limit what I touch. I don't even touch my phone because if I hold it to my face later I break out terribly. Maybe it's time to hang up my tongs, lol

I was working in a publix bakery a couple months ago for a while I wanted everything....eventually you just get so sick of looking and dealing with it all...I'm also allergic to all nuts wear gloves all you want I still always had hives on my forearms...I'm smart enough to know not to eat just anything or else my throat closes and I stop breathing..Yah fatal. I ended up quitting Bc I just hated the enviorment...I miss the fresh bakery bread though..however 15 lbs lighter its a blessing I'm no longer there.
