For the last few days, I have been reading about:

"No tears as Ga. student sees bacteria-ravaged hands." She is so young and in the Master's Program
in Psychology.
I just want to pray for her and her family as they go through this trauma.

Thank you.

p.s. I do not know her - but I thought that sending her positive thoughts might help.

Such a sad story. And now there is a woman in South Carolina who is suffering from the same thing after giving birth.

Are you serious? I just feel so sorry for anyone that has to go through this. To lose limps - is shocking.

the bacteria is called necrotizing fascitis, if you want to look into it. It's really not all that uncommon, i've seen over a handful cases so far this year at the hospital i work at.

Really? I have been reading what they say in the papers and online and I thought it was rare.

i will say though, it is life threatening and very severe. Often required long hospital stays.

It is a shame. I pray for here and all the rest. Now there is a man that they just had on the new that has is as well. Someone I know went into the hospital for surgery and end up having to go back a week later, due to complication resulting from the surgery. It was something simular to what is going on with these people, but not body parts amputated. It was eating her insides. It was eating up the person's tissues. They said that it was a good thing that the person came in when they did, because if they would have waited a couple of days later, it cauld have entered the blood stream and could have been fatal. They said that it was the result of the hospital's contaminated, operating utensils. The person had to go through several emergency surgeries. All seems to be well though.

What you are saying sounds very scary.
I know personally what can happen when something goes wrong with surgery.
    It is frightening.

I really do hope this young woman comes back fighting.

Everything I have read has mentioned about her wonderful spirits.
