I think that depends on what your unhealthy looked like. If your unhealthy was ramen every meal unhealthy is still cheaper then healthy.
You have to take into account where you live as well. For example, where i live celery ranges from $1-2 for a stalk. In a low income neighborhood I was working in they sold celery for $2.50 for 4 peices cut in half. Not a stalk it was four peices of celery! :noway: That was the only grocery store in the area and most people in that area walk/ride the bus.
I think some of that study is silly. Oats are cheaper then chicken. Word?! Of course they are and why is protein considered a 'moderate/unhealthy' food.
that said for me i can eat a relatively cheap healthy diet. about $40 a month.
it's pretty much peanut butter toast (or shakes), fruit shakes, vegan 3 bean chili or black bean soup and cabbage vegetable soup. Everyday. If i want to add variety(which i think is important) however the cost goes up.0
