So i've been weighing in on a friday morning but my scales only give me the measurements in stones and lbs so i've been converting them just to lbs. This morning i was 11 stone 9 lbs so i converted 11 stone to lbs which is 154 then added 9lb which equals 163lb but if i put 163 lbs in a weight converter it comes back as 11.6 stones? This has left me confused and i'm wondering now is it best just to use kg's??

i read somewhere on here last night, that in the uk theres 14 lbs in a stone and in the usa its 10. If thats true, that could be the reason. I use stones and llbs but i just use the calculator on my pc or my head to put it in just lbs

    Well... 11.6 stones doesn't equal 11 stone 6 pounds ... it's

    9/14 = .6 (9 pounds divided by 14 pounds in a stone) = .6

I understand what you mean by this, however on my scales if it said 11.6 it would mean 11 st 6llbs , it would go up to 11st 13 then change to 12 st

11.6 is a decimal number, so 11.6 stone ≠ 11 stone 6 lbs. There are 14lbs in a stone, 14 x 0.6 = 8.4, so that calculator is telling you 11 stone 8.4 lbs. Try and find a calculator that converts "pounds to stone and pounds" rather than just "pounds to stone", and then you should get the right number. This one works: http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/body_weight/weight_converter.htm

A clearer example: a stone is 14 lbs, so half a stone is 7 lbs.
    11.5 stone = 11 and a half stone
    11.5 stone = 11 stone 7
