Do you have MFP and fitbit set up to the same calorie goal? You won't get a fitbit exercise adjustment until you burn more with the fitbit than MFP says you should burn. I don't get my exercise adjustment until after I go to bed at night. If you are entering your exercise in MFP then you probably won't get an exercise adjustment because those calories burned are already in the MFP total for the day.

On mfp your daily goal is your BMR plus around 400 calories it expects you to burn in a day. Fitbit only gives you an adjustment if you've burnt more than that. Otherwise your you'll have lost x amount in 5 weeks is incorrect. Does that make sense? You must be burning less than that amount mfp is already allowing you I think. Have you gone through tools on here and set it up? If so it will work. If you'd like to be my fitbit friend add me on zarazarazara@yahoo.co.uk xxx

zara- Does that apply if you set your calories to lose x amount a week, or is that just for maintainence calories? I have been a little confused as to how that works as well. Thanks.

Go on the fitbit website and at the bottom of the page is product manual. That is the entire manual and it explains step by step how everything on the fitbit works. It's very enlightening. Also, I don't know if I read this right but it sounds like you are entering your food into fitbit? If I am right, you should still be entering it in MFP, not fitbit.

Oh and btw, I ended up disconnecting fitbit from mfp and I use it as a standalone now. I didn't like that it added calories to MFP and I was always subtracting them in my head from my allowed calories. I use the Fitbit for what I bought it for, to track my calorie expenditure every day (calculators always said I should be eating way over 2000 calories and I barely burn that in a day) and also my sleep. Everything else for me is just extra.

Yes it includes if you have it set to x amount per week. When your logging your exercise I wouldn't eat 400 of them back as mfp was allowing you 400 anyway. Onlly had it a week or two, but pretty sure I'm right in what I'm saying. I know my bmr is 1900, mfp gives me 2300, if I want to loose 2lb per week I get 1300 cals per day, so they are giving me 400 activity calories per day above my BMR. Make sense? So you have to burn over 400 calories above BMR on your fitbit to get an adjustment. If you go on tools here it tells you the BMR MFP gives you x

Wow thank you so much for all the insight on this.,. I think i will stick to using the fitbit as it is and using MFP for what it does because that is just to much.. I love both and i am so happy i understand this fitbit more :)
