Vacation and no access to MFP!

I am headed to Texas in a week and will not have access to MFP for 6 days…Yikes……I have come to rely on it to keep me in check. I am a bit anxious that I will “fall off the wagon” so to speak and revert to my old habits. I also concerned that I will not have access to the foods that I usually eat. Ideas and suggestion welcomed!

You'll have learnt by now a pretty decent instictive feel for caloric content of foods and so you'll have a reasonable idea. Certainly good enough to keep yourself at maintenance level.
But if you do revert to old habits for 1 week - so what? Don't stress, just enjoy it. You'd have to gorge yourself daily to get the 8000 Cals it takes to gain 1kg of fat.
Enjoy your trip.0 -
Don't worry.
I was in Iceland in September and 10 days without Internet.
I knew I would be okay (eating more food, drinking more but hiking 4-5 hours/day)
Turns out I lost weight. Cool, eh?
I think everyone needs an Internet break at least 1 week per year. It's good for the soul and the waistline.0 -
Wow! Have fun on vacation! It sounds fun! I don't think a week will be too long of a time to worry. Just keep making the right choices, smaller portions, etc. You can do it! It seems like most of our vacations involve so much walking that everything kind of balances out. Good luck to you!0

If you have a smart phone, there is a MFP app- assuming you have a signal where you are.
In addition, I have been journaling my food and exercise in a book for the past 3 years as well as online here on MFP.
I would write down your food and exercise to help keep accountable, even better, if you can PLAN ahead
the day before what you will be eating- at least some of the meals to help keep a handle on it.
Keep focused!
Good Luck!0 -
I just returned from vacation and although I attempted to use MFP through cell coverage... It was a waste.
My best advice: Move your body. If you can go for a walk, run, bike ride, pushups when you wake up, do-it. Don't go overboard on every meal. Enjoy yourself and come home ready to jump back! Welcome back the routine and pleasure of logging a healthy day of eating and exercise. (I even took one day after vacation to allow myself the time to set up food for the week and schedule for the week, but not put the pressure on myself to be perfect right away)0
