Wedding tomorrow.... HELP!!

There is an outdoor wedding tomorrow that I am invited to, and I have no idea what to wear. I have never been to a wedding. I don't wear dresses because I feel way to gross and fat to wear them. I usually keep myself completely covered up. I mean, I have cottage cheese thighs like nobodies business, my arms are flabby and gross, and I have acne on my back and shoulders. Like I want everyone to look at that. Please help! I am in panic mode!

I think pants, a nice top and some cute sandals would be perfectly appropriate to wear.0

I don't always wear dresses to weddings. It depends on what the bride says the dress code is.
I actually think dresses are more flattering than pants. But, if you want to wear pants, there is no reason you can't wear a nice flowy pair of black pants with a dressy top.0 -
Pants, a nice top and whatever shoes you feel comfy in. Wear whatever you will be the most confident in!0
-
Do you have any cute kaki capris with a nice shirt and some cute sandals!? Great outfit for an outdoor wedding0

1st off...wat horrible things to say about yourself. I have horrible body image as well. But if you believe you r beautiful then you wil be. I bet u notice these things more than anyone else. And wear something you are comfort in. they make long dresses, dresses with sleves. Find something that you feel good in. Confidence is your best acessiory.0

I was thinking black pants.. but wasn't sure that would be appropriate. I have a nice pair of black flip flops... can you wear those? The wedding invitation doesn't say anything about dress code... not sure what that means. Just casual?0

You can wear a nice spring print Maxi dress (goes to the floor) with a nice Cardigan0

If it doesn't say anything, I always assume dressy casual. In which case, black pants and nice black flip flops would be appropriate.0 -
It all depends how casual "outdoor wedding" means. My ceremony was outdoors and the reception inside, so the women mostly wore cocktail dresses (some wore shawls or sweaters over them for the ceremony part since it was late September). You could wear a long dress (or 'maxi-skirt' with a pretty top) though...they're very much in style right now and you'd still feel covered up enough.
Is there anyone else going that you can talk to about what they're planning to wear?
By the way...odds are you are seeing yourself MUCH more negatively than the way you look to others, so try not to panic too much, and focus on having a good time!0 -
If i were you I'd stick to a simple black dress. Nothing too snug. Also, for a quick fix the day before I take green tea water pills that they have at any drug store over the counter. It's not something I would do on a daily basis, but it helps me take off the extra water and makes my clothes fit very good and helps you feel thinner! Just make sure you are getting enough fluids because you could dehydrate easy!!! Good luck and enjoy the wedding!0

Black pants are okay, but I always feel like ALL black to a wedding is a bad idea.
Then just don't wear a white blouse or else you might look like table service0 -
Ditto the Maxi dress and cardigan. Maxi dresses are very forgiving. If that is you in your profile pic you are being wayyyy too hard on yourself!0
-
you can easily find a cheap maxi dress at target or kohls or something like that. use a cardigan to cover your top half and you're good to go!!!! i think thats very appropriate for a wedding. if theres nothing on the invite then it is dressy casual0
-
I too say you might be a little to hard on yourself. Thats said, I'm not a fan of wearing dresses at all. Maybe a nice knee lenght pencil skirt in black, and a cute colourful top thats not too clingy.
As for flip flops? not sure this would depend on how casual the wedding is. Though heels at an outdoor wedding suck. You keep sinking down in the grass. Maybe a nice wedge?0 -
Don't be so hard on yourself, you will look great. Have fun first of all. The guests will be looking at the bride and groom anyways, not worrying about you.
I nice dress that isn't too clingy would be the most comfortable, you don't need to show off your back if that makes you uncomfortable. Sandals, or flats (high heels hurt my feet and make me cranky).
Nice, pressed, pants are fine, but as other have said, if you were black pans, don't wear a white top or you will look like the catering staff.
Bring a sweater or shawl in case it gets cold.
I have often dressed up black pants with a glittery top for occasion such as this. Or if you don't wear too much pattern on your dress or top, that gives you more room to work with on accessories (big dangly shiny earrings, colorful bracelet or necklace).0 -
You are definitley being too critical of yourself, but we all do it.... but I hope you can find something you will feel confident in!
Black pants with a nice top and some sandals/flips would be fine. It might be fun for you to explore the maxi dress suggestion too - you never know what you will like/feel comfy in until you try!
If you make the effort to look nice, you will!
But remember - you are going to this wedding because some wants you to be there - that's more important than what you wear! So try to enjoy your day and celebrate!
PS not sure where you live, but if it's anywhere warm, remember sunscreen and bug spray!!!0 -
Thanks everyone! You have been so helpful!
I think I decided on doing the maxi dress with a cardigan sweater over it. I love the idea that I can still wear a dress but it will cover everything up and at the same time I will feel really pretty because it's a dress. I don't remember the last time I actually wore one....
Time to go shopping!0 -
Go to Target or Old Navy.
They have very nice "sun" dresses for all sizes and get a pair of shoes to match.
Relax and enjoy.0 -
i know u said u dont like dresses but have u ever tried on a maxi dress? They are long so it will cover ur legs and u can wear a cute cardigan over it to cover your arms. U have to find the right one that offers u a shape but they can be really beautiful.0

How about this dress?? Or should I pick one with more colors? I could always wear a colorful cardigan or something. I am so bad at this!!0 -
That dress at target would be great! I think you are very pretty BTW. Sometimes I know all you see are your flaws, but trust me, it's far better to focus on your best features! And when everyone tells you how nice you look tomorrow at the wedding, don't down play their compliments. Just say THANK YOU. That was a tough one for me, but it made a huge difference in my confidence when I started accepting compliments. Good luck!0

That is a lovely dress. A nice coloured cardigan would look great. You can wear a nice pair of flats with it. Dress it up with some big earrings!
You will look awesome!0 -

I like the dress from Target you posted. I would probably get it in black (more versatile) -- you can add color to your outfit with the cardigan, jewelry, purse, etc. Enjoy the wedding!0

LOVE that dress.......maybe go with a color that your comfortable with or the colored cardigan is a GREAT idea.0 -
Love that dress! I agree a pretty spring cardigan would look great over it. Don't know how you feel about jewerly, but a pretty cuff bracelet or earrings would really look great too!. And don't forget your smile. It can make all the difference in what people remember about you afterwards. Have fun!0

That dress is great. And black is fine. It would look really nice with a jewel tone cardigan.0 -
Well they didn't have that dress at Target... so here is what I chose. I felt pretty good in it. I am wearing a white cardigan over it with some pretty sandals!!!
