I'm looking for some new friends! Especially vegetarians. I recently kicked the meat habit (except fish) and would love to find some friends who are vegetarians. Hubby is pretty skeptical so would love to give and receive some support on mfp. Thanks!!

Hi! I'm a pescatarian too! I felt a lot better when I cut meat out for good (besides fish, althought I rarely eat that...just a tuna sandwich here and there). Welcome to MFP, feel free to send me a friend request! :flowerforyou:0

I have slowly but surely been trying to cut back on meat and poultry, although the most I would do is a steak or burger or even just some chicken in a salad. But lately I have been swapping out meat for all veggies or fish, like salmon in salad is yummy! I know I told my husband that I would like to become a vegetarian while pregnant simply because I wouldn't feel right eating foods with growth hormones in them and he thought I went crazy but for the most part he is ok with my changes, I think hes mostly happy I didnt ask him to change.0

i went vegetarian a year and a half ago to get healthy and fit , and ive never looked back since.
not only is all veggie meals low in fat and high in protein which is great for building muscle and loosing weight
but the vitamins and minerals you get from the food are excellent.
i havent looked back since - i even use a protein shake specially for vegetarians .
good luck and keep at it !0 -

Hi-I'm a "modified vegan". I can eat whatever I NEED to to make sure I am getting all nutrients needed. I try to stay away from animal products except no-fat yogurt, no-fat cottage cheese. I can eat eggs if I choose, fish if I choose, I can eat anything I need or want............just generally, on a day to day basis, I'm most often vegan. Add me if you would like to. I'm am not vegan as a "religion" though. I care for animals but if it's between them or me for survival, I'll eat the animal!! lol0 -
if you are a vegan, does that mean you give up leather and other products made from animals? what about medication tested on animals?0

I'm vegetarian for moral reasons....working on being more healthy. All I used to eat was bread and butter but I quickly changed that! When your healthy you feel so clean and energetic.0

Hello! I, too, am a fellow veg No fish/seafood though (I get creeped out!). But I do love me some chocolate and cheese! Mmmmmm.0

I became a pescatarian since coming back from a trip to Indore, India in March of this year. Prior to my trip to India I was as carnivorous as they come. Something changed while in India. I enjoy not thinking about beef, chicken, or turkey. Life is good!0

I went straight to vegan myself and didn't expect my husband to join me although I wasn't cooking seperate meals so out of laziness he just naturally started eating mostly vegan himself. After about 6 months he was about 30lbs down, full of energy and has recently decided he'd rather be vegan full time as well.0

very active vegetarian for 19 years now trying to go vegan bc I recently found out I am allergic to eggs and dairy.
feel free to add me0 -
I'm vegetarian! I cut out meat first and kept eating fish and seafood for a year or so, but I've been vegetarian for 6 years or so now. There are just so many reasons for sticking to a vegetarian diet and I love exploring new food.
Feel free to add me, always looking for new veggie friends!0 -
Hi,
I have been a vegetarian my whole life. My hubby just became one about 3 months ago. Now we are trying to be vegan as much as we can. Add me if you'd like0 -
Yes! I went vegetarian about 3 months ago and haven't looked back. It really hasn't been that hard. Meat just doesn't even look like real food to me anymore. It tends to repulse me now. Yet, people still try to get me to eat meat, just like they try to get me to break my diet. I will never understand why others would try to get someone to fail. it's sad. That's why I joined this community- for support!0
