vegetable soup diet

I know that this website is not for fad diets but for lifestyle changes and I hope people don't jump all over me for asking but....
Has anyone done the 7 day vegetable soup diet? I am thinking of trying it because I am going to go on vacation in 7 weeks (Bali, Cambodia, Malaysia) and I have clothes I need to take with me that I need to fit into.

Tried it years ago, it was miserable, hated it. Exercise and eat less/healthy. It's the only safe and sane thing to do. If you have the will power to do it, I'm sure it would work, but I almost went crazy.0

Besides the obvious fact that only eating vegetable soup sounds horrible boring, I would be concerned with the lack of protien, calcium and other vitamins and nutrients. Also, be careful that you don't consume too much sodium. Soups are often very high in it and it can cause bloating.0

I don't think 7 days of eating soup will help you to really lose weight. It might at first but as soon as you start to eat it will all come back. Possibly even more because you'd be on vacation and probably eating out more which usually means more sodium. I would think that you'd end up bloated. But that's only my opinion.
But I do like the idea of making a vegetable soup and eating it for lunch or dinner. If you use a low sodium broth lots of fresh vegetables and some beans I think it could be a healthy easy meal. Make one pot and eat it through out the week.
Your vacation sounds awesome! Hope you have a wonderful time!0 -
My grandma used to do it in the 60's and 70's and lost like 40lbs that way.
I tried it my senior year of high school and lost about 10 lbs in 6 weeks.
Then you gain most of it back but its worth a try I guess for vaca0 -
You have 7 weeks before your vacation. How much weight do you have to lose to fit into the clothes? If you work hard you should be able to lose at least a dress size or two by then just with eating healthy and exercising.
If you need to lose a lot of weight to fit into these clothes (in other words not a realistic amount) then I hate to say it but buy or borrow new clothes for the trip. I think if you do this soup diet for 7 weeks you will just jepordize your health and that last thing you want is to be weak and sick for your trip. Plus, I don't know about you, but I like to indulge a bit when I am on vacation. Wearing clothes that are a bit to small to begin with for me wouldn't be a good idea. By the end of the trip I would either be really really uncomfortable and grumpy (from the tight clothes), or I will have had to have bought some new clothes anyways.
Good luck with whatever choice you make:flowerforyou:0
