How often do I need to re-calculate my BMR?

So MFP has me on a calorie goal of 1430 calories. The BMR calculator I just used says my BMR is 1774. So, let's suppose I up my calorie total to 1774 so that I don't damage my metabolism. It can't stay that forever, right? Do I recalculate at every weigh-in to make sure that I'm not over-eating?
