two nsv's

I love these non-scale victories..I am trying to stay off the scale so that I don't become obsessed, and had two nsv moments today...
1. I have been detoxing from sugar for the past week and this is the first time in 5 days that I didn't CRAVE sugar like CRAZY. That is huge for me and I am so relieved to be moving past the sugar addiction...I can totally feel a difference in my outlook and energy level--no sluggish feeling anymore, and way more energy--this is even with cutting back on caffeine which I am doing slowly but surely as well..
2. The second nsv is that I fed my family wheat bulgur today (we as a family are trying to eat healthier), and they loved it. Didn't even ASK me what it was...I had to ask them if they noticed anything different about the "brown stuff". They thought it was "small" brown rice. I said "nope. You just ate wheat bulgur." The hubs and 2 kids decided they like it MUCH better than brown rice. Yay!!! Our next step is to try quinoa...
Baby steps towards a healthier body and a healthier family...the improved quality of life is becoming as important as the getting skinny!!

Keep up the good work my friend!! Detoxing from sugar is so satisfying in the end.
I've made Quinoa a few times and its been hit or miss. I made it mac n cheese style and suprisingly nobody liked it.
I assume we can't eat Wheat Bulgar0 -
Wheat Bulgar I have not tried.
I use Quinoa in eggs to make a veggie scramble. And I have put it in a brown rice tuna casserole. I don' push it too much but there are lots of recipes to use Quinoa.
Congrats on your Sugar victory!0 -
