Going over on sugar.

Hi
I am pretty good at staying on or just under my calorie allowance, and I always eat back most if not all of my exercise calories. What I don't take much notice of is the sugar number at the bottom... until recently when I noticed it was often in the red! I have been losing more slowly recently (one or two pounds a month) and have upped my exercise to try to increase the rate of loss slightly. Do you think that the sugar number is important? If I stuck religiously to staying on or under the sugar allowance do you think, for example, I might lose inches from my stomach ('abs made in the kitchen' etc etc)? What do you think, guys? I can be 10 -40 in the red!!!

You lose strictly from a calorie deficit unless you have a medical condition like diabetes, PCOS, insulin resistance, etc. where you would not lose if you did not restrict carbs.
If you don't have such a condition then there is no need to worry about sugars. Some people see a quicker loss when they cut down their carbs some but then everyone is different so you may not. Sugars are only part of carbohydrates. So to get them down you would need to decrease your overall carbs. If you want to try that you might see more of a loss at least for the first few months.
I cut my down by a lot and had very big loses for the first 6 months but then I have one of the conditions above where eating too many carbs would have prevented me from losing anything so i had to.0
