    Thanks, that calculator shows higher calories burned (568) than my treadmill (500). I sort of expected the treadmill's calculation to be higher, but I'm glad they're at least in the same ballpark.

    I use my treadmill only as a "rough guide" for caloric burn. Like that link, I can input my weight and age, but the one thing it'll never take into account is the length of a person's stride and how that's affecting the workout. At 5'4", 3.5 mph is almost speed-walking for me, while the same speed for my 5'11" BF means he has to purposely slow to a stroll. His fast-walking speed is more like 4.5-5mph, while that's a jog for me.

    I think its way to high, I count about 62 % of that.

    I never go by the treadmill and go by HR monitor instead

    when i got my hrm, i found out that my treadmill was showing 70+ less calories than what i was really burning for a 2 mile
    workout. my hrm was set with my age, weight, height and is pretty accurate.
