UK Lloyds pharmacy HRM

My Lloyds pharmacy HRM arrived today, however, it seems mine is faulty :( I've set all my info into the watch, followed exactly what it says in the manual. Checked the chest strap has a battery in it, wet the sensors, put it all on and did some hooping. But the watch isn't telling me my heart rate, so the chest strap is not detecting my heart rate. I've read the manual over and over, tried the chest strap numerous times, tightened it. But nothing!! Is there anyone who has this brand and know if I'm doing something wrong? I'm so upset, think its faulty and will now have to send it back and wait longer :'(

    I don't have this make (I use a polar), but mine sometimes doesn't work well unless I put vaseline on my skin under the sensors. Worth a try?

    I have had a cheaper one myself, from Aldi cost about 12.99. In fact I have had 3 now all been replaced, very hit and miss, If i was you i would send it back and go buy a polar, I know they are more money but you do get what you pay for.

    Ah well... Guess its going back. I'd just read some good reviews and as I'm strapped for cash at the moment, I bought this one. You're probably right! I should just wait until I can afford a polar.

    Thing is with the polar ones, you can't change the battery yourself can you? So its more expense later on having to send it off to get it changed.

    I dont know what to doooo :( lol

    Hiya,

    You can change the battery on Polar ones now I believe, and they are pretty reliable, also I think you can buy a chest strap separately if you have one that you can't.

    I've got a Polar FT4, you can change the batts in the watch and the strap yourself. You can pick them up fror £40-£50 online :)

    Thank you. It's the ft4 I had been looking at before buying a cheap one. Amazon have got then for £54, haven't seen cheaper unless I try eBay, but I don't know if I should trust eBay?

    FT4 is the cheapest in the polar range to show calorie burns.

    Send it back and ask for a replacement before you fork out for a Polar. I've got the Lloyds pharmacy one and it's absolutely fine - been using it for over a month and I'm very happy with it.

    I was going to do that, but its more waiting for the risk of getting another faulty one. It's just my luck to be honest to get a faulty one, I will just go for a polar. I was trying to avoid spending that much, but that's life I suppose.

    Also I'm not sure if all HRM's only adjust to a certain size but the Lloyds chest strap was too big for me, I put it at the smallest and it still fell down. I had to improvise and wrap a bandage round to keep it in place, making sure the HRM was still touching my skin. Maybe this is why it wouldn't work, I don't know. I did see that others had problems with the size of the chest strap. It's just been a nuisance!!

    I have the same HRM as you and mine picked up my HR almost immediately, so I think yours must be faulty like you thought. Bad times. Hope you can get it replaced with a working one! :)

    I got my Lloyds HRM through the post today and I was having issues too, I think it's down to the chest strap. The Lloyds one didn't register on the watch for me, so I tried a chest strap from another HRM and it worked fine. But like you, I found the straps are too big. I ended up cutting and stitching mine smaller so it fits better.

    I had to cut and re-stitch my chest strap as well! It's not even as if I'm tiny or anything - I'm a UK size 10-12 so I'd expect it to go small enough for someone my size.
